Traveling
I think if you planned it all out right his would work. Then again, maybe if you just took off and let things flow it would work out too. I would definitely do this if I had more than enough time to go out and do it. Whether or not I would take a year off of school to go travel would depend on the college I was going to. If it was a school opportunity I couldnt afford to miss than I would wait to travel for a few years.
Blogging
Personally I don't think blogging is in my future because I don't get a whole lot of enjoyment or amusement out of it. I don't know if I will keep blogging after ths class... maybe if I'm really bored.
Hearing Loss
This article didn't really phase me. I already knew how bad listening to loud music can be for you. Therefore, i highly doubt it will change the way I listen to music which is, unfortunately very loud. But I'm sure most of us can agree that, it is funner to listen to it loud. Even though I listen to it loud I do worry about losing my hearing... after all, how would I continue to listen to it loud when I'm deaf?

My Own Blog Entry
So, yesterday on my way to school I saw my dog on the other side of the highway. Stupidly I started screaming at her to get back on our side of the road. Obeying my command she ran back across the road and got slammed be a minivan... Miraculously she doesnt seem to have sutained serious injuries, just very bruised. But, the lesson is.... think before you scream at your dog... also if you heard a woman screaming bloddy murder at about 7:50 in the morning yesterday... that was my mom.... she wasn't very happy that her dog almost died...
Tax Cuts
The tax cuts benefit the middle class. Since my family is in the middle class it was personally benefit us. Obama said he didnt favor giving tax breaks to the top earners in the society so that would mean a regular tax cut for them. It means they would spend more money but they have more of it to spend than say, the middle or poorer class. For the poor this would be a benefit because they would be able to keep more of their money then giving it all away to the government. The pact would allow all businesses to expense 100% of their investments in 2011. The upside of less taxes is that we get to keep more of our money than letting it all go to the governament. The downside is we will have less government spending. I am not too surprised that Obama decided to do this but I didnt think he would actually try to go through with it. Personally, these tax cuts would benefit my family so I am in agreement with them.

Binge Drinking
I think binge drinking is definitely a large problem. Teens don't seem to understand or care about what damages it can cause. I don't think its as big of a problem in our school as it is in many other schools though. The fact that a teen dies every 5 hours from drinking is ridiculous. People shouldn't be doing things that involve potentially sacrificing their life. I was aware of the effects binge drinking has on teenage minds. My attitude towards alcohol remains the same.

Recycling Robot
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/science-news/7344503/Recycling-robot-sorts-rubbish-into-six-piles.html
This article is about a newly invented robot in Japan. The robot is used to help recycle. Using sensors and lasers it sorts rubbish into different recyclable catagories. The goal is to identify six different types of plastics that can be recycled so that they arent insinerated with the rest of the rubbbish. There are trials going on in other countries and a smaller version is being planned on to be built. I think this is interesting becasue we are coming up with more ways to identify materials that we can recycle that we didnt before. This is good because we are conserving more materials and helping the environment at the same time. This is important for those reasons too. If we can get that kind of equipment in America and get more people to recycle we can cut down on ome of the materials we are consuming.

Ratio
That map actually really surprised me. The chart with 65 years and older was predominantly female but that wasnt surprising because i has been proven that women live longer than men. There was a little more females in most countries than there was males but in a few countries there were obviously more males. I really dont know why that would be. It could be due to natural causes or there was just more males or females born in hat country. Right now the charts show that there are a lot of young boys worldwide right now and I honestly have no idea why that is.
Women Rights
I think there is definitely still sexism in the United States. The article made a few key points but I really think that sexism is waaaaay worse in other countries. Other counries dont have laws passes to protect women like we do and many of them dont do anything at all about the problem. Sexism is just like any other prejudice and it is always going to go on because we cant change everybodys opinion on things. I think there is more we could do about protecting women in the United States but to do that many women have to conffess what is going on so that the government ( if change that drasti is needed) can do something about it.

Censorship
Kids are allowed to wear Christian shirts to school and have them appear in yearbooks; why cant kids wear atheist shirts to school? Censoring this kids "God is dead" shirt is kind of bias when it comes down to it. Now I dont necassarily agree with the message on his shirt but after all arent some of our oldest laws in America freedom of speech and freedom of religion? If schools are going to censor things like that they need to censor everything not just certain things.

Cameras on Students Laptops
Putting cameras on students laptops is a complete violation of privacy. I think thats appalling. Many people have their computers sitting on in their living rooms, bedrooms, etc. Thats not only violating the students privacy but everybody else in the house at the time. I think that the students and their families have the right to sue and get angry at the school because that is unacceptable. People have their rights to privacy and a school invading those rights is not okay. Schools may be able to do that inside school walls but anywhere else it is none of their business.

Trust in the Government?
After reading that article and seeing just how few people trust the government shocked me. I think it is not ok for people to trust in their government. That is where problems come in and start ruining the flow of things. Even I dont approve with how the government is going right now. It is sad how few people feel like they cant trust our government anymore. It is lower than its been for a long time. People should be able to feel good about the government and people in it. If so few people dont trust the government right now that makes me think that there is something about it they dont like; such as a certain person. If trust gets any lower we coul have a real problem on our hands. After all isnt trust in the government the reason we left Great Britain?

New Infinite Power Source
This new source of power would be incredible if it were to work as they say it does. We would have infinite amounts of new power and many debates about other power sources could be left behind. I think we should have been informed us earlier than the experiment about the potential of this experiment. It makes me wonder why we havent heard anything yet. Putting that much power into one small object and heating it to millions of degrees is incredible. I think it is definitely worth investing in if it will work correctly.

Aliens
The idea that there is life outside of earth is always being contemplated. It has been thought about in the past, present, and most definitely the future. I think there is life outside of Earth. Whether it be micro or bigger than anything here on Earth. I think there is definitely life ouside of our solar system. The universe is unfathomably huge in size and continues to grow. As technology evolves at the exponential rate it is we should be able to dicover life of some sort outside our galaxy. It could be years or months from now but I think we will find something eventually. The idea that there is life comparable to humanity out there somewhere is an interesting concept to me but Im not going to worry about it until the time comes.

Video Games
I wont deny that video games are fun. Who knew there would be so many careers in gaming.... its opening up new opportunities to help our economy. I do think that the numbers are outrageous of people playing video games. I remember when many people didnt have their own game consoles but now almost everybody has one. There are games in phones, ipods, and all sorts of electronics. I think one of the problems is keeping up with the game industry. It is in exponential growth. I can remember buying the the original play station and the PS2. Now they have come out with PS3. Who knows how long it will be before the PS4 comes out. The video game industry is headed skyward.

Cyberbullying
We hear it on the internet, the tv, the newspaper. We think "oh how could that happen to somebody." So why dont we try to do something to stop it? Im sure we have seen it or done it before no matter how big or small it was. Cyber bullying happens in every community. Every person with a cell phone or computer has cyber-bullied before. Schools do need to get more involved. They need to get people to speak up and then talk to people that are causing problems.... look how far letting people deal with their own problems is getting us.... it gets us suicidal young teens that have so much more in life ahead of them. All that they get though is the disgustiong comments like "slut" and other names. We do need to get more involved in trying to stop cyber bullying because it sucks......

Thought of Something better to say
Bogging, texting, e-mail,twitter? What happened to the good old days when people thought out a well written letter on paper? Not typing your letter out but actaully writing something personally to a friend. There really is nothing like receiving a handwritten personalized letter from a good friend. I myself am one of the few people that actually has a pen-pal. I can definitely encourage people to get a pen-pal just to get out of the social-norm. Thats all our life in the good old USA is anymore is folling social-norms, having the newest and coolest electronics, etc...... well I just lost what I was going to say so Ill leave it at that I guess......
